Nancy Drew Mystery Series
The Nancy Drew mysteries were comprised of 56 books in total, and in each story, Nancy Drew showed the audience what fun could be had while solving mysteries. From 1930, when the first book was published, to 1979 the books were published by Grosset & Dunlap. In 1979, Simon & Schuster took over the publishing. In 1959 the books were reviewed and many were changed due to things such as racial stereotyping and class generalizations. Five different writers were thought to have collaborated on the rewriting of the books and sometimes, entire plotlines were changed.
