Nancy Drew Mystery Series
The Nancy Drew mysteries were comprised of 56 books in total, and in each story, Nancy Drew showed the audience what fun could be had while solving mysteries. From 1930, when the first book was published, to 1979 the books were published by Grosset & Dunlap. In 1979, Simon & Schuster took over the publishing. In 1959 the books were reviewed and many were changed due to things such as racial stereotyping and class generalizations. Five different writers were thought to have collaborated on the rewriting of the books and sometimes, entire plotlines were changed.
Nancy Drew Files
The Nancy Drew files were a spin-off from the Nancy Drew Mystery series and were begun to be published in 1986. The stories flowed flawlessly with their predecessors although they were aimed at an older and slightly more mature audience. The Hardy Boys mystery series was released at approximately this same time.
Nancy Drew Notebooks
Although this series was one of the later ones that were published, they feature Nancy Drew as a younger girl, still trying to solve mysteries that are aimed at a younger target audience. These books were first published in 1994, with the last book in the series wrapping it up in 2005.
Nancy Drew and the Crew Clue
This series shows Nancy Drew and her friends, George and Bess, in grade school and solving small, fairly innocent mysteries. This series began its publishing in 2006 by Aladdin Publishers.

Nancy Drew, Girl Detective
There were 41 books in this series, which was told from Nancy’s point of view and had some drastic changes to plotlines and characters. The series began being published in 2004 and has more releases due in 2010. The series was begun in an attempt to breathe life into the Nancy Drew Mysteries series, which had been losing sales.
Papercutz – Nancy Drew Graphic Novels
These graphic novels came out in 2005 and revamp Nancy Drew in a totally modern way. All of the storylines are new and include things such as George using a laptop and Nancy driving a hybrid car.
Now and then, a Nancy Drew book came out that stood alone and was part of no series. These included: Nancy Drew Ghost Stories; The Nancy Drew Cookbook; and Nancy Drew Madlibs.
Crossover Series with the Hardy Boys
